This booklet contains the text of the special guided tour “Miracles: Sites of the Apocalypse”. It maintains the narrative form used during dozens of tours given to small groups during the Jubilee year 2000, when the Italian Episcopal Conference first issued a call to introduce theology and philosophy into discussions of religious works of art.

 The idea was to use a quasi-theatrical presentation bringing together history, art, philosophy and theology in a way that would make the complexity, charm and enduring relevance of Signorelli’s masterpiece accessible to everyone.

This led to the publication of a book, The Duomo of Orvieto and the Apocalypse of Luca Signorelli, of which this text is a summary.
